Cleaners showed up to a rental unit in Chicago where they were supposed to clean an apartment between tenants. The most recent tenant — a children's doctor — had been evicted, moved to Florida, and left items behind when she left. In the bathroom, they found the ex-tenant had left a plastic storage bin — with a dog trapped inside, barely able to breathe. A small black Portuguese water dog named Betty had been inside the bin for quite a while. Her fur was completely matted. Her body was covered in sores and urine burns, and clearly emaciated from malnourishment. Her only way to breathe was through a tiny hole that someone had made in the container's lid. Yet, she was determined to stay alive. Rescuers later said they believed she survived because she ate her own feces. If someone is this cruel to a small, defenseless dog, how can they continue to treat children as a doctor? And he did it at two donors' request.  This reckless and corrupt decision threatens the nation's climate goals, puts thousands of clean energy jobs at risk, and forces states to rely on polluting fossil fuels to meet their energy needs. The consequences of Trump's decision are dire. Climate change continues to worsen every year, and humans are feeling the intensifying effects through wildfires, hurricanes, drought, heat waves, and more. We absolutely must prioritize switching to sustainable energy sources as fast as possible. But instead, Trump wants us to move backwards, further into the arms of the oil and gas industries, further committing us to their dirty and polluting consequences. States like New York and New Jersey had set ambitious plans to transition to renewable energy, relying on offshore wind to meet their targets. New York alone planned to generate 9,000 megawatts of offshore wind power by 2035 — enough to power millions of homes with clean energy. Fully implementing offshore wind projects along the East Coast would cut carbon emissions by 50 million tons annually. This is the equivalent of shutting down 131 gas-fired power plants. But two of Trump's wealthy donors, both with interests in fossil fuels, didn't want offshore wind farms near their properties. Congress must act immediately to override this reckless decision and pass legislation requiring offshore wind expansion. They stabbed their own dog repeatedly while livestreaming the video

This violent individual should never be around animals again. They Stabbed Their Dog on a Facebook Livestream. Demand an Intervention! Sign Now    Annisa, It could have been any other night. A person in Detroit loaded Facebook on their phone and set up the live-streaming video option. But then — the person proceeded to stab their young female dog repeatedly. And they shared the brutal video on social media. Luckily, a community member saw and alerted authorities. When officials arrived, they found seven cats living in the home — all in bad condition. The dog who had been stabbed was in danger of dying from its wounds. Additionally, four cats were malnourished and starving, and one was badly injured. Two of the three dogs were also underfed. Officials seized the animals and are ensuring they are receiving the  veterinary care necessary. But it's obvious that this violent individual should never be allowed around animals again.
