Why? Because in most of Wyoming, killing wolves is completely legal — and hunters can use any method at all to do so. The so-called "Wolf Captor" of Wyoming made international headlines after he injured a wolf cub — using a snowmobile to run it over until it could hardly move — and then muzzled the animal, keeping it captive and parading it around town, before ultimately killing it. He even brought the defenseless wolf to his local bar, where he took photos grinning while holding a beer in one hand — and roping the terrified animal in close. After he was done, he took the captive wolf out back behind that very same bar. And then he shot and killed it, after it had out-lived its entertainment purposes. Yet since wolves are considered vermin and predators in most of Wyoming, the state's Game and Fish department only penalized him with a $250 fine. Now, a year later, he's finally being faced with felony animal cruelty charges. But even now, Wyoming lawmakers still haven't set limits on how people are allowed to kill wolves — or even on how many wolves they may kill. As if this isn't bad enough, the proposed rule doesn't even make exceptions for rape or incest. One in three women veterans are survivors of sexual assault and experienced said assault during their service. Sexual assault is utterly pervasive the U.S. military. What women who served need is better access to care and more efforts to protect them, not rules that put them at even higher risk. For the past several years, extremist conservatives have been on a rampage to destroy pregnant people's access to abortions, which has led to fatal consequences. Democrats need to defend people's reproductive rights and present a firm opposition! Burn pits with dead dogs showed the horrors at this facility

She's been accused of willfully starving dogs, neglecting them, and burning their remains. Some dogs died that way, and their corpses were left to simply rot in the sun. A black trash bag just barely concealed a dead dog. A different container had been stuffed with partially-burnt dogs. According to official records, the owner of the Freedom Ranch Laredo facility was allegedly withholding food, proper water, medical care, and sanitary conditions from the animals there. Based on text messages with another associate of the facility, it appears she knew she was doing this and that it was willful. There were nearly 30 dogs at the facility when authorities arrived. All of the dogs were seized from the premises — and the vast majority were very sickly. Most were severely malnourished, dehydrated, and underweight. Some had mange. One was sick with cancer. Others had diseases from parasites that had advanced past the point of intervention. Ultimately, veterinarians were forced to euthanize three of the dogs, though the others are in treatment. It's clear that the woman who owned the ranch requires psychological intervention, immediately, in order to keep others around her safe. This state will let hunters slaughter up to 558 wolves

Wolves have roamed these lands for generations. We must protect them from massacre. Montana Approves Plan to Let Hunters Kill a Record Number of Wolves Sign Now    Annisa, Montana's government has given hunters the go-ahead to slaughter as many as 558 wolves this season — the largest number in recent history. Even worse, it's given permission to individual hunters to trap or kill as many as 30 wolves per person. This even impacts wolves living near the famous Yellowstone National Park! Wolves in the U.S. Northern Rockies region were protected under the Endangered Species Act until 2011. But now, with those protections gone, Montana officials apparently are giving hunters exactly what they want. These animals are considered a "keystone species," meaning they're essential for the ecosystems and food chains around them. Without wolves maintaining a stable population, whole biosystems can be thrown out of whack. This trickles down to even impact the literal grasses and other foliage! Even worse, Montana's own agency for Fish, Wildlife, and Parks (FWP) released data showing that this new hunting and trapping policy could reduce the wolves' populations to below the level that is considered "sustainable" — in less than a year. Slaughtering wolves just to appease greedy, self-centered hunters is grotesque and cruel. We must speak out for these wild animals! They have a right to live!
