Pictures of polar bears and other animals losing their homes circulate, and we all sympathize. It's a shame, but nature follows its own path. Wait! Back up. The Arctic is in grave danger and we need to take note. In the past three decades, we've lost three-quarters of the entire north ice cap. »

At this rate, we might not have any ice in the North Pole after a few more years. This spells disaster for more than the polar bears-- it's already affecting us, too. The ice helps stabilize weather all over the globe, reflecting a lot of the sun's heat back into space. So no ice means we all pay. »
