Help Ismail: dad and teacher arrested in Sudan

Ismail was arrested along with hundreds of other civilians, political activists, and journalists in January.

Since then we don't know anything about him, we don't know the condition of his detention." Those are the words of Zuhal W, daughter of a teacher and anti-austerity protestor in Sudan. During that time, his daughter has used social media to document her ceaseless efforts to get answers from the Sudanese government — including one night when officials cruelly promised to release political prisoners, only to continue holding most of them hostage. Every political prisoner in Sudan has a story like this. Hoping to bring attention to the extreme struggles of the Sudanese people, they came together to protest the government's austerity policies. But instead of hearing their plea, the government imprisoned them — silencing their voices, severing their connections with their families, and implicitly threatening anyone else who might dare to speak out. We have a duty to use our hearts to help end suffering like this.
