DID YOU KNOW?   Samhain is a Gaelic festival celebrating the end of harvest season and the beginning of winter. It's usually held right between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice. In early times, Samhain was regarded as a time when the door to the otherworld was opened for the souls of the dead to come into our world. The souls were welcomed to feasts where places at the tables were set for them. At the same time, people took steps to protect themselves from harmful spirits which may have led to the tradition of guising – a tradition similar to our current trick-or-treating.
